Derek Redwood BEM FCA

Derek joined the practice in 1976 and qualified in 1981. A partnership followed in 1983 and Derek was admitted as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1991.

Whilst Derek is an experienced and accomplished general practitioner he has developed special interest in the field of estate planning and  Inheritance Tax as well as personal and business finance. He has acted as professional executor in a large number of estates. He has extensive experience in Sage accounting software.

Outside the office Derek was extensively involved in football at local level. A playing career as an amateur at Newport County and at Barry Town culminated in five appearances for Wales at semi-professional level including two games as captain. Derek was Chairman of Cardiff Civil Service F.C. for over a decade and served 17 years on the governing bodies of a local primary school and 6th Form college. He was a Torch Bearer for  the 2012 London Olympics.

Derek is the Founder of Friends of Bobath Wales which has raised over £275k for a charity supporting children with Cerebral Palsy and was awarded the British Empire Medal ( BEM ) in the 2014 New Years Honours in recognition of that work.
