Derek Redwood FCA

Derek joined the practice in 1976 and qualified in 1981 after a number of years in the role of senior assistant to Norman Berg. A partnership followed in 1983 and Derek was admitted as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1991.

Whilst Derek is an experienced and accomplished general practitioner he has developed special interest in the field of estate planning, personal and business finance.

Outside the office Derek was extensively involved in football at local level. A playing career as an amateur at the now-defunct Newport County and at Barry Town culminated in five appearances for Wales at semi-professional level including two games as captain. Derek is now Chairman of Cardiff Civil Service F.C. Former Players Association, current treasurer of Cardiff Lawn Tennis Club and served 17 years on the governing bodies of a local primary school and 6th Form college.

Derek is the Founder of Friends of Bobath Wales which has raised over £100k for a charity supporting children with Cerebral Palsy.

Philip Bolton FCA

Philip is joint Audit partner at CHP. He joined the practice in 1970 and after completion of training and obtaining qualification in 1976 he moved on to the London office of an International practice. After a break of one year he returned to the practice and was admitted as a partner in 1978. He became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1982.

Philip has wide ranging experience in the audit field and controls most of the larger audit work in the practice. He also has a special interest in personal and business taxation and is responsible for maintaining standards within the practice on these topics.

Philip has participated in a number of full and half marathons raising funds for various causes.

Ashok Aggarwal FCA

Ashok joined the practice in 1975 and after completing his training, qualified in 1983. Ashok became a partner in 1987 and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1994.

A highly experienced general practitioner, Ashok has developed a professional interest in the healthcare field with specific reference to Doctors, Dentists and Nursing homes where he can apply a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the problems encountered by such businesses.

Ashok is very much involved in the affairs of his community and is actively concerned with welfare and charitable organisations.

Susan J. Arthur FCA CTA

Following an earlier successful career in public service Sue moved to the accountancy profession and qualified in 1984 with one of the large national practices. She then moved to the tax department of another national practice to gain experience and additional qualifications in tax work. She became a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1986 and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1995.

In 1986 she moved to general practice with a medium sized independent firm and became a partner in 1989. In 1994 Sue established her own general practice in Cardiff covering all aspects of accountancy, audit and taxation and has a wealth of experience in these areas. She joined CHP in April 2010.

Sue has personal interests concerning the protection of the natural environment and is a supporter of a number of animal welfare organisations.
